Do you unfriend dead friends on Facebook?

Do you unfriend dead friends on Facebook?
Or do you just leave them sitting there on your friends list? If you unfriend them, how long after their death do you wait?

I must admit, I'm not the type to go posting messages all over a dead friend's wall as if they were still alive. I think people just do that because they want everybody else to see it. If I ever felt the need to send my dead friend a message, I would probably private message them. Although I have never felt that need, and furthermore, I'm sure my dead friend is not sitting round in heaven or wherever checking her Facebook messages.

I think Facebook is for the living. It is insensitive to unfriend a dead person?

no, i keep them because we have friends in common and we all miss the person - it's nice to see new tagged photos of the person we have known for 30 years

but if you really feel the need to delete them, go ahead

My Aunt passed away a year ago. Though we weren't super close, I haven't deleted her. It's out of respect. Of course, no she won't be checking her Facebook anymore, but I'm never going to unfriend her.
