talk to him! itll make him feel better, he needs someone to get him out of his sad funk. he is probly sef conscious so maybe mention some things that you are self conscious about to help him feel more comfortable and less intimidated like "i never do good on tests, but you seem to do pretty well tho!" or "guys are lucky, their hair is so easy to style and always looks good, especially yours, but i always feel mine is in knotts" or something like that to kind of even things out. if he seems like he wouldnt want to talk about the crap in his life, try to talk about light hearted stuff, not overly happy but simply funny stuff, to kind of bring him back into perspective i guess (with out illuding to anything in his life tho). also let him know he is an important person, not just hott, bc he probably knows he is hott and would like to be appreciated as a person, maybe that is why he is a loner, he doenst want to only be liked for looks? good luck gal, also dont overwhelm him with all your girl friends at once, that will likely make him uncomfortable, just sit by him in class and strike up your self deprecating yet complimentary of him conversation or just on something you have in common
