Do you think that Twitter has helped or hurt the political world?
I mean, you have people in Iran who got out to the rest of the world with Twitter.
But then again, you have Arnold Schwarzenegger with a knife at the beginning of one of his videos, causing lots of criticism. What do you think? Ads |

I think it shows the short term memories that Americans have come to have. We need to reduce everything down to 10 word sentences.... little words.

I think it'll be awhile before we see the impact of Twitter. Like at least until most people over 40 know what it is. I admire the exuberance of youth, but don't forget who runs the place.
Plus, there's the information overload which may diminish any value over time. At what point of saturation do you think apathy kicks in? |

Twitter is just another means of "communication" that has made everybody farther apart and less responsive.
WE ARE DUMBING OURSELVES DOWN!! |

I think that Twitter is a frightening symptom of the increasingly impersonal attitude and short attention span that people are developing toward each other in general. It's a strange way to communicate with people - very short sentences in which it's a real challenge to express anything with depth and substance. But then again, no one seems to want depth or substance anymore - they don't have the time for it and it has become boring. It's like Twitter is a way of saying to each other "Will you just get to the point?" All of the time.

It depends on if the person tweeting is an idiot.

No one made him hold the knife, and who cares if he holds a knife?
It is just a tool. It is neutral. |
