What happens when you block someone your friends with on facebook?

I got into a fight with a friend of mine and all his annoying facebook updates and picture spam is driving me insane. Which is making me dislike him more than I already do... What happens if I block him for a few weeks then unblock him? Will blocking him remove him as a friend? Because I really don't want to have to awkwardly seen him a friend request in a few weeks.

Yes. It will. I have blocked my ex and have had to request him again once we made up a couple times. What you can do instead is maybe unsubscribe to your friends updates. That way, their stuff doesnt always pop up, but they remain on your friends list.
Don't worry. You will get over this fight.

if you block someone on your friends list then unblock them they are no longer on your friends list.

When you Block Someone You Will No Longer Be Friends With that Person And you Can Not See that Persons profile and That Person will not be Able to See your Profile At All

yes blocking him will remove him as a friend. i guess the best thing you can do is 'restrict' him and hide him from showing up in your news feed. once the fight has died down then you can let him show up in your news feed again
