I want to add a friend on facebook but due to some drama issues another friend might get angry. So is there a way to still add the person to my friends but not have facebook post that I am now friends with "___"?

no, that is not possible... you can hide your friends list, but your other friends will still be able to see that person commenting and liking stuff on your profile

Yes and that is to use yotive.com instead. they do not show/tell your friends and yotives that you have added a new friend when you do so. thats why i like yotive.com so much more than Facebook
