Help with facebook and cookies?

Mkay, so, I started facebook a few days ago, and I read that they track you, even if you log out! I checked and several sources said this. It's called "frictionless sharing" Look, several sources (sorry they aren't links, I'm level 1 troll, but right now I am serious. If you don'.t trust me, fine - google "facebook tracks after you log out." They are the first things that pop up):

I don't like my sites visited being shared, but facebook posts them (when I'm logged in) anyways. I don't want the same to happen when I'm not logged in. You all use the internet - you know perfectly well there are many guilty pleasures other people have no right knowing. Anyhoo, the just says:
"In order to prevent Facebook from being able to track you, you need to delete all Facebook-related cookies once you've logged out."

I use Google chrome. If I go to settings, advanced settings, content settings (under privacy), and tell it to "Keep local data only until I quit my browser" under the cookies section, then close my browser every time I finish using facebook, will I be safe from this then?

(Also asking in the computer sections, but they are slow to answer, and most people here have a facebook and a basic understanding of internet, unlike me)
