Well, obviously, for every ORDER you give, there are several reactions someone can have to it. So you can't PREVENT your wife from being friends with ANYONE. However, the fact that she would be interested in being friends (even on Facebook) with another man. Especially one she had a previous relationship with would disturb me greatly too, if I was married.
