On twitter if you send a message to someone you are following can they actually see the message or do they need to follow you as well, please help.And i noticed that you can only send direct messages to people who are following you who you have started to follow but i dont know if people who are not following you can see messages posts you have sent.

if you send a reply or a mention (@username) then the other person does not need to follow you to see the tweet. for direct messages it is only the people you are following, and are following you back that can see it.
