What are the signs that a facebook app is spam, and is a app who has 7.7 million users spam?

Sometimes it will take you to a different website, which always scares me but sometimes the spam is quite professional and looks legit, might be best to Google said app and see what comes up.

do some research first before using an app. search engines can help you to validate an app. people who have been victims of certain applications blog about it or post it on the internet. so the information is easily searched.
