How can i sway my parents to let me get a facebook?

I was in 9th grade before i was allowed to get one... pretty much act mature and act like you can handle it. I have one now, and have for about 8 mos. and it is parent monitored. So, everytime I post a picture, post a status, or someone else posts something about me, it sends an alert to my mom. I also am her friend on facebook, so she has access to everything that I post. It doesnt bother me, because I am not doing anything that would make me get in trouble. It might be good to let your parents know that there are different parent controls on there.Just make it so they can trust you. Have them get facebook accounts and then when you get a facebook become friends. Dont go behind their backs and get one, b/c that will just cut you off from any other privelages you might get. Be patient. Facebook is much safer than MySpace. I will never be allowed to get one of those. Your parents sound alot like mine.
