caryes becos?

I just got a message on facebook from a possible relative in Norway of mine. Insane! He said this "i is caryes becos we have famili in USAWink"

I'm guessing it means amazed to know.... But I'm wondering if someone could tell me exactly.

"I am curious because we have family in the USA" would be what I would first guess he is (literally) trying to write.

His use of the word 'curious' seems to mean something slightly different; like 'surprised' or 'intrigued' (which makes a lot more sense since the word can mean that in various other languages).

Your guess is pretty good.

I asked a fluent norwegian speaker and he told me that "caryes becos" is not norwegian language, but what you received is just a very bad written english (the way family is bad spelled also) that could esasily mean "I am curious because we have family in USA".

But Karies Bectus in Norwegian is a very old cartoon that shows to figures called Karies & Bectus that were always digging in the kids teeth to put caries and bacteria, so the program try to show kids how important is to brush the teeth. But this has no relation with what you receive.
