If you do nothing does the notification ever disappear?

if you poke back the notification will go away! But, the person will keep poking you back probably! you can also remove poke

I think it stays there forever, until you press 'remove poke'. Not too sure though - I've had one that's been there for ages.

Nope. The notification will stay there until you remove it manually.

You have to poke back or ignore it for it to go away.You could also delete the application if you don't like it.
