What would you do if an ex boyfriend wanted to be friends on facebook?

It was the first long term relationship I had lasting 2 and a half years. We didn't remain friends. Now 6 years later he sends me a friend request. I didn't accept out of respect for my current boyfriend and that it is just weird but from a males point of view what is the point in it?

Maybe he wants to just touch base with you after so many years, you have no reason to be suspicious if he hasn't talked to you in years and hasn't tried to get you back before.
I would have accepted the friend request but deleted him if it turned out he wanted more than just to see how I am.

My ex keeps on trying to add me to bebo....really don't have a clue why! I haven't spoken to him for months since we split....so whats the point! Im sure he's still the twat that he was when we were together!
