What do you guys think of this tradition?

I don't think it's very fair..

A friend of mine's girlfriend has a tradition with her family that, when one has a boy/girlfriend, you cannot talk to your ex's or people you used to like because if you guys start talking again, things will happen (liking each other again, etc.)

So my friend can't talk to my friend anymore (they're both friends, they used to like each other but he deleted her on facebook and stuff.) He says he would rather make his girlfriend happy.

that's a stupid tradition, and unfair for a family to decide for someone...it should be an individual choice. that sounds immature...sorry.
