Brother is engaged, can I announce it on facebook?
My brother has been dating his now fiance for almost 4 years. They don't have facebook, and I do. I'm friends with a lot of our relatives on facebook that would see a status if I put it up, but I want to congratulate them in a status, would that be rude. He didn't tell me not to tell anyone, but i don't know the proper thing to do

Um, did you even consider asking him? I mean honestly,
is it that hard to call him up and say, "Hey bro, can I tell
my friends you are getting married via facebook?"

Honestly people...

Follow his lead. Once he has, you can. Ask him before you post.

Ask first! I told my mom that I was pregnant not too long ago and I told her that we weren't telling yet, but she still posted it on FB...I had to keep calling her and telling her to take it off.

I think you should wait a lil bit so that the most important parties are notified of their intentions. You dont want to catch anyone by surprise and put your brother in a bad spot!!!

You need to discuss this with your brother and his fiancée and see how they feel. Why are you turning to strangers on the internet for your answer. This is completely up to your brother and his partner, not us.

Aww yay!
As long as he's okay with it,

I agree with Emilee, you don't want to over step your boundaries
