My cousin is suing Facebook for 5 million dollars because someone tried to steal his identity?

If I got a case and yes I would. These things will drag on and on and on.....sometimes it's not worth it because a big company like that will drag it endlessly for you to give up and say it's not worth the hassle.

Wish him luck. I would not want to try to battle The Z's money. He's worth billions, and would string a case like this out, until the defendant was broke, and could no longer pursue it. Money wins in court every time. Ask OJ!.

Not really. I doubt he will win. All the information he has provided about himself on facebook was by choice. Noone makes you state your name, date of birth, where you live, what you're doing - he provided all of this information by choice so I doubt he has a leg to stand on.

If he posted the info himself, he is at fault. If info was collected from private data, it is only Facebook's fault if the data was stolen by an employee. Any other person (a hacker), it is THEIR fault. Not Facebook's.
