Do you think that young people getting pregnant is becoming a trend?

Teen pregnancy has always happened. You just hear more of it now because of Y!A, facebook, support groups, and TV/movies/radio.

I mean, my mother was a teen mom. Two of my aunts on my father's side were teen moms. And my father's family was religious, so it was a big shock! This was all 20+ year ago they got pregnant as teens. A few peers' parents were teen parents. My friend's mother had her at 15.

It's weird how the UK and Ireland are so different. Teenage pregnancy is practically non-existent here. The rate is 0.9 per 1000 girls! I've never even seen a pregnant teenager if they weren't on tv. I hope the trend doesn't come here though. I'm sure there are teen mums here but it's definitely not a trend.

It is a trend, because of the outstanding numbers of young mothers. But remember, not all trends are good because who hasn't looked at a picture and said,"Why on earth was going on in my mind when I wore that?" and then in a young moms case they would most likely say,"WHY on earth did I become pregnant?"

tbh i think the person who asked has already got their mind made up. Not all teen mums get pregnant for the sake of money or glamour, i will admit from my school year now ppl 17,18 atleast 10 are preg but this could be down to failed contraceptives. Majority of the girls are fantastic mothers and teen mums often do better because of the pressure that questions like this bring! And maybe their proud of their children enough 2 talk about it on facebook to prove ppl wrong! Have you ever thought about their background, lots of things can be taken into account when asking this question. Its not the same 'she got preg for money' situation for every teen mum. i also dont have a child so im not biased.
