Wtf, you're making it sound like facebook is a pet or something. My parents dont even know what facebook is, and dont even care. What's so unsafe about facebook? My friend uploads all the pics she takes with her camera onto facebook. Seriously, what is so wrong about having a facebook account?

Not everyone is interested in learning your personal info.

tell them its safer than myspace, you can have a lot of friends, on;y people you add can see what you post, and you can keep things private so no predator online can see. and you can ask your friends to send a friend invitation to you so u know its from them. good luck. btw don't keep begging and tell them you will get good grades or something a long that line

Try to get your friend's parent's to convince your parents.

Or

How old are you? Age always matters. Anyhoo, tell them it's fine. I'm 12 and have had Facebook for over a year. It;s not unsafe, Myspace is unsafe. On Facebook you can only view someone's profile if your friend's with the person. And you can put your settings to private so other people can't even find you in search, but you can find them.

So tell your parent's that, and see what they say.

Just ask them to join too and make you as a friend. Then they can watch if something inappropriate appear on your page.

Their main concern is of course that you by accident upload something which can resemble child porn. With the wrong choice of clothes you can be charged with distribution of your own photos.

Remember that Facebook also is a showcase for you as a person your future employer will check up on.

My parents are on Facebook and they found a lot of former classmates on it.
