Its from twitter. Its not meant to be used on fb but people do it anyways. On twitter, when you use a hashtag(#) in ANY word, it becomes a topic or a "trending topic".
It has nothing to do with facebook, but I see it all of the time also.

Like the old myspace. The status comes first "just ate" etc. Then the mood, "sobored" they just put that to show the separation pretty much.
