Twitter question, how do you not show retweets in your timeline?

My timeline is spammed a lot of the time with useless retweets or people who just post links in their tweets. Instead of unfollowing them outright, I'd like to simply not show the retweets and soon maybe any tweets that have links or even hashtags (since most of these tweets are pretty useless as well.) This would significantly cut down on the spam and would only show organic tweets.

Is there a way to do this in tweetdeck or just in your standard profile? (I decided to put this into the facebook section since the two sites are closely related.)
