Your father is probably just worried that his little girl is growing up too fast. Wearing red gives off a sexy vibe and I know that I feel more confident when I wear red lipstick or red clothing. If you rock it I don't see any problem with wearing a bright color.

I love red lipstick! Just make sure you don't put too much eye liner on. Or try a dark brown eye liner instead of black. Red lipstick looks best when you have simple eye makeup.
