Some Islamic extremists in Nigeria are murdering hundreds of Christians - not merely "several"! It was not always like that. Only 10 to 15 years ago, Christians and Muslims lived peaceably together in northern Nigeria. I know people who lived in Joss and Plateau State, and their being Christians wasn't a problem. But in recent years, (not just "since last Christmas") there has been a deliberate attempt by those who wish Sharia Law to be enforced in the north to terrorise Christians who would not vote for that. Because those people know they cannot succeed with democratic means, they resort to violence.

They have attacked villages at night, setting fire to homes, and hacking down men, women, the children, the elderly with machettes, horrifically killing hundreds, and maiming many more. They are not doing this as retaliation for what America is doing in Afghanistan. They are only interested in enforcing Sharia Law in northern Nigeria. It's the same in the Horn of Africa where Sudanese Islamist terrorist gangs are contributing to the famine and drought deaths by attacking helpless villagers. They are thugs - evil men, without an ounce of compassion in their hearts.

It is sickening that peacable Muslims (who are the vast majority) do not rise up publicly to condemn those evil men. Well, some might, but you would think the vast majority could wield enough clout to make the world realise they were actively combatting such evil done in the name of Islam. It does not appear as if they are.

Boko Haram is not acting on behalf of the country that they reside in, and are not acting on behalf of Islam or Muslims. What they do represents themselves only. Their motives are political. Do not associate Islam with them.. guilt by association is a fallacy.

Christians have and are killing millions of innocent Muslims (men, women, and children) in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc. for absolutely nothing. What does their religion stand for and what do their actions say about those Western countries? A lot.

The Yelwa massacre took place on May 2, 2004, in Yelwa, Nigeria. According to reports more than 630 Muslims were killed by Christians.[1] Christian men and boys surrounded Yelwa and many were bare-chested; others wore shirts on which they had reportedly pinned white name tags identifying them as members of the Christian Association of Nigeria, an umbrella organization founded in the 1970s to give Christians a collective and unified voice as strong as that of Muslims. Each tag had a number instead of a name: a code, it seemed, for identification. They attacked the town. According to Human Rights Watch, 660 Muslims were massacred over the course of the next two days, including the patients in the Al-Amin clinic. Twelve mosques and 300 houses went up in flames. Young girls were marched to a nearby Christian town and forced to eat pork and drink alcohol. Many were raped, and 50 were killed.

If you want to know about what Islam stands for, do some research. You have the internet.

Something I find in almost all westerners is the inability to distinguish between Islam and the actions of radicals. Also, they either don't know or choose to ignore what governments like those of USA and the NATO countries do in Muslim countries. Their said aim is to eliminate terrorism, but only a tiny fraction of people they kill are actually terrorists. The rest are innocent people. The difference between the killings by 'Muslim' groups and western governments is that those armed groups are acting for their own beliefs and ends, and do not represent anyone but themselves, while the western governments represent hundreds of millions of Christians who voted them to power.

From where I stand and observe world events, Muslims are suffering far more than Christians are. It is ridiculous, your blindness to everything that you don't want to see.

Christianity does not teach what the Christian-majority countries are doing around the world, and have been doing for hundreds of years. The teachings of Jesus are in contradiction with evils associated with colonialism and current events. Similarly, the actions of terrorist groups, who make up a very insignificant minority of Muslims around the world, do not mirror the teachings of Islam. It's time you people realized that. Though I'm not sure you will.

The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding.
