John 3:16 refers to a verse in the Bible.
It's from the book of John, an eyewitness account of Jesus' life written by one of his disciples, John. In chapter 3, verse 16, the text says: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life." That's probably the shortest, most complete summation of the message of Jesus' ministry that there is. It's critical to Christians of all walks, Catholic and Protestant both. |

John 3:16 discusses God sacrificing his only Son (Jesus) to a sinning word so that all that believed in Him and baptized in His name could have eternal life. Although Catholics and Christians have different beliefs, this one is pretty common between them.
