What is the Conservative Agenda and way of thinking about government?
Am I wrong for thinking that the following statement is accurate when describing the conservative mindset.

1. In the world according to conservatives, competing firms in the perceived free markets are the ONLY source of efficiency and wealth. Government contributes nothing but security. Outside of this function, it should be demonized, starved, or privatized.

2. Any force in civil society, especially labor, that contests the right of businesses to grab all social surpluses for itself, and to treat people like expendable resources, and the environment like a sewer, should be crushed.

What I hear constantly from conservatives is:
We're broke, Public sector workers like teachers are to blame, and if we tax the rich even a penny, we will face economic armageddon.

Really? You hear that? I would have that it would have been drown out by the liberal claims of "working to provide for yourself is evil. Denying government full control over every aspect of your life is evil. And if you disagree you're a racist."

that's more the tea party idea, but the tea party idea is clearly gaining steam...

the crazy thing is... taxes are relatively low for the U.S. right now, but if you listened to them talk, you woult think it was 90 percent on the wealthy?

Yes, you would be very very wrong.

Those are the ideas of most modern economists. Not just Republicans.

Bill Clinton put NAFTA into effect. Democrats controlled both houses of Congress from the start of negotiations to the time NAFTA went into effect. Hillary Clinton was on the board of dirctors of Walmart.

Free trade has been the biggest job killer ever since Ross Perot warned against it in 1992. But neither Democrat nor Republican has lifted a finger to stop it.

No, that is not the Conservative Agenda. It is the NWO agenda, which owns our entire government.

Add - No minimum wage, no SS, no Medicare, pay as you go healthcare, no post office, no regulations, increase military by 50%, no tax on business, increase business subsidies.

Yes to 1 and no on the second part of 2. People aren't slaves. They benefit from the profit and success of business. Don't like it? Start your own business. Or at least acknowledge the fact that you can. This 'people are slaves of the corporation' crap is really getting old.

As to taxing the rich, well, you must acknowledge that they are the only ones paying any taxes at all. 50% of American pay nothing with their share being paid by your despised rich. How about we tax them...even a penny?

They want a system like Russia had for decades: A handful of very rich and almost starving Masses.

It is our form of Government that made us great and the Conservatives want Dictatorship.
They could have never made it clearer than in the recent "non-negotiations"

The Conservative way of thinking is this. Everyone is born with certain unalienable rights among these are the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. But what exactly does that mean? Well, it means that our rights do not come from Government. They come from God. No Government can ever take them away.

The right to life means not just existing but living. We have the natural born right to live our lives with as little interference as possible. Liberty means being free of restriction or control. It is the power to act. The right to Pursue Happiness means happiness however one chooses to define it. If you want to be a billionaire, go for it. If you want to be a Hobo, go for it, whatever you define as happiness is fine as long as you don't interfere with anyone else.

America has no "force for civil society such as labor". We do not have any "working class". We have individual employees. Each of us can develop our skills and increase our value to whatever level our natural ability, determination and decisions allow. Our system of Free Market Capitalism allows every individual to vend his own worth as he sees fit. Value is given for value received. It is a win/win system. Employer provides wages and benefits which the employee values for the best effort of the employee who provides labor that the employer values. Both are enriched by the exchange.

Businesses do not "grab" surpluses. They make a profit. That is the reason anyone goes into business and takes the risks involved. Profit is a good thing. It is something Socialists do not understand. It is why a single man, with a dream, skill and determination could borrow $3,000 and working from his mother's garage could create Microsoft. Think about how much wealth has been generated by Bill Gates. How many products, services and employment opportunities now exist that did not exist before? How much wealth has been created by this one business? There are no "social surpluses" there is wealth that has been created by wealth generators and that has benefited each and every one of us.

The Conservatives are spot on when they say we "the government" are broke. the Federal Government has no wealth, it creates no wealth. All it can do is print pretty paper notes. It takes private enterprise to give value to those notes. Even gold is worthless until someone makes the investment, takes the risk and puts in the herculean effort to find it and mine it.

Public Sector employees should never have been allowed to Unionize. They never were until JFK signed an Executive Order allowing it. Even FDR saw the danger of having public sector employees able to strike or collectively bargain. In public education it is the manifestly true. Here in New Jersey, when I receive an annual report from my township it includes a pie chart to show where our property tax money goes. Almost all of it goes for education. Almost all goes for huge benefits such as lucrative retirement plans and health care for life for the Union employees. None of us private sector taxpayers enjoy such benefits. But pay for them, we must.

The rich are the source of all employment that adds value. The rich are the layers of the golden eggs. The rest of the world need to survive. If the wealthy do not create jobs, who does? I am not wealthy and I have never hired anyone. The few rich people I know employ hundreds of people, mostly in the restaurant and hospitality business.
