How to stop my children from talking back to me?

hey, I know how it is, I believe kids need lots of sleep as teenagers when they're growing.
7 to 8 hours maybe fine for an adult, but teenagers need 8-9 hours!!
but kids think it's cool to stay up late and scrape by on as little sleep as possible.

my 14yr old and almost 13 yr old boys don't protest the way your kids do, but when I
say it's time for bed they always come up with these little things they forgot to do.
(mom you have to sign this paper, mom I need lunch money for tomorrow, mom I left my
gym clothes in the van and they need to be washed, etc.)
or sometimes, they will start to go to bed,
but in a few minutes I go to check on them and they are in there wrestling
or some other silly thing... Drives me Wild!!
I do have a little suggestion for you, although it isn't really a solution.
Your kids sound more disrespectful and rude, swearing at you and slamming doors and such.
I would suggest, that you just quietly and gradually sabotage their techie devices...
a bit mean maybe, but it sounds like they are feeling entitled to these games and
music and computers without limitations... and they don't want to stop....

my 12 yr old happened to "lose" his mp3 player, and I didn't get him a new one.
I changed the password on the computer and I only type it in if they've done their chores and homework...change the wi-fi router password every once in a while...You get the idea...
it's true there's not much you can do about an 18 yr old... mine does what he pleases. he
does have his own job and pays for his own gas and school lunch, so I can't really complain.

As for the showers, I think your kids are old enough to decide for themselves when they
need showers... if they don't take one, their friends will start making comments...
which will motivate them better than anything you can do!!

Hope this Helps!!
