How can I DM a celebrity on Twitter?

About a month ago one of my all time favourite celebrities followed me (on her birthday too ) and I really want to DM her but I'm too scared too and I also don't know what to say Does anyone have any tips on what I can say to her and how I can force myself to send it? I don't mind tweeting her even though she doesn't always reply but it's just because a DM is private and I get a little scared.
I followed her and she DID follow me back. And it's definitely her. It's not verified but the band's main twitter page is verified and it has the accounts of each member in the info part.

You can only DM people if both parties follow each other. So it means the celebrity you want to get a DM from has to follow you.

That is very unlikely to happen, unless you might be an important person, an owner of a fan club or something.

It is also very likely that the Twitter account of a celeb is managed actually by a marketing company and not the celeb itself.

If it is really important for you, you should try to contact their management or company that does the represention, like an agent in the case of actors.

But just to be a fan it is very unlikely to get a personalized response. Imagine that it is impossible to answer masses of fans on a personal basis.
