Employment at will is a policy that gives a company a right to fire you without merit. But based on the question, the people who were laid off or fired could sue the company on discrimination. A person can sue a company on political discrimination. The boss shouldn't be following you into the voting booth.

That rings lawsuit and OSHA and Equal Opportunity Employer sanctions.

I don't have a reason to see why any employer was laying off anyone without having financial trouble!

I am LMAO. My brother just flat closed up shop and hung a for sale sign on the door. His workers used to get 50 an hour plus full medical and dental, now they get unemployment.
