Anyway to use copyrighted materials on Facebook, legally?
I am an avid fan of RVs, especially Marathon Coach. I want to make a Facebook group about RVs and put photos of some of my favorite coaches in it and possibly use some as a Facebook profile picture. But all the images are copyrighted. Is there anyway I can still use them legally? Even if I state that all the images came from Marathon Coach's website and link it to that website?

You can probably use them so long as you're not getting any compensation for them. The Marathon Coach people would probably only come after you if you were portraying them in a negative light (even then it would likely be protected under fair use doctrine) so I would say go ahead and make a group and post those pictures. If they don't like it, they'll send a cease and desist letter before suing you.
If you want to absolutely protect yourself, go and take some pictures yourself. You can use those pictures, because you own the copyright to them. Ads |
