Do you think this Chinese Proverb is valid?
"The fire of anger only burns the angry" We live in such an angry world. I read recently that this has become a big problem in communicating in texts, twitter accounts and the like. It is amazing how many are dealing with anger issues. Why do you think that is so? Well look at who has temporary control over it. (1 John 5:19) It's to be expected. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 foretold what the world would be like in the time of the end. |

No.
The fire of God's anger will consume the wicked. "As in collecting silver and copper and iron and lead and tin into the midst of a furnace, in order to blow upon it with fire to cause a liquefying, so I shall collect [them] together in my anger and in my rage, and I will blow and cause YOU people to liquefy. 21 And I will bring YOU together and blow upon YOU with the fire of my fury, and YOU must be liquefied in the midst of her. 22 As in the liquefying of silver in the midst of a furnace, so YOU people will be liquefied in the midst of her; and YOU will have to know that I myself, Jehovah, have poured out my rage upon YOU.’â€" (Ezekiel 22:20-22) Anger is like sex -- in and of itself, it is not a bad thing -- or else God would be sinning by his getting angry. I see anger as an emotion that serves to discipline wrong-doers -- it reaches the heart of the wrongdoer and impresses upon him the seriousness of his error. Anger is bad when it is unwarranted or taken to a level that is disproportionate to the offence that triggered it. Anger is discouraged in humans because imperfect humans are vulnerable to losing self-control when angry. So anger being discouraged in humans is owing to our unique situation as imperfect sinful beings. |
