Not illegal, unless the people in the pictures are under 18. But it does go against the site's Terms of Service, and they will remove them, and possibly close your account.

If they're under the legal age, also that's sick.

You will probably get reported. And "sexting" is getting a lot of people in trouble, and they are registered sex offenders now.
So be careful with what you do. |

they will get removed if you put them on their. imho it's a shame how much censorship there is in this world (well at least the US) these days.

If you or they are above the age of 18 it is fine, but if they are younger it is considered child pornography even if it is you putting up pictures of yourself like that, if you are even 17 you can get into loads of trouble. Also it is illegle if you do not get the persons consent, but still WHo would want to put nacked pictures up, seriosly, are you like a pornographer or something

Another thing to consider, many potential employers are looking at the social networking sites of job candidates. If you're under 18, or if the photos were taken when you were under 18 it's illegal. It is not legal to post such photos of others, 18 or otherwise, unless you have consent. The sites will ban your account.

Terms Matter: A photo of you in the nude is perfectly ok regardless of your age. The problem is if you are under 18 and mail it and if there is a hint of sexuality -- you could get into some trouble, since US law even forbids the possession of
§ 1466A. Obscene visual representations of the sexual abuse of children How Current is This? (a) In General.— Any person who, in a circumstance described in subsection (d), knowingly produces, distributes, receives, or possesses with intent to distribute, a visual depiction of any kind, including a drawing, cartoon, sculpture, or painting, that— (1) (A) depicts a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct; and (B) is obscene; or (2) (A) depicts an image that is, or appears to be, of a minor engaging in graphic bestiality, sadistic or masochistic abuse, or sexual intercourse, including genital-genital, oral-genital, anal-genital, or oral-anal, whether between persons of the same or opposite sex; and (B) lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value; How a cartoon, or painting "depict" a minor is another discussion. You may not post pictures of others without a "model release" or you can be civilly tried. Photos of nudity are not in and of themselves illegal --- but if people can purport that a cartoon depicts a "minor" is valid in court cases --- the call for discretion should be heard. |
