Why do you think capitalism is better than socialism?

A healthy blend of capitalism and "socialism" is exactly what has been being implemented in this country for the last 75 years or so.

Every industrialized democratic nation functions under a blend of the two, which I see as productive, beneficial, and inevitable.

Socialism in western and northern Europe has statistically provided excellent education, health, gnp, jobs, and those countries score high on happiness and standard of living surveys too - much higher than the U.S.

Those who say "socialism has failed" don't know much about countries outside of the US, or they confuse them with non-democratic authoritative communist countries (USSR, China, North Korea, etc...) which do not represent socialism. Besides currently capitalism is strongly failing the US.
