What does it mean if a girl talks to you more after she thinks you dont "LIKE" her anymore?

I'm a pretty shy guy, but I found the courage to talk to the girl I like whenever I saw her at my college. I would introduced myself when she was new and I even got her number. She would hug me too, but once we went to get ice cream (just the two of us), it went down hill... someone told me she was trying to get back with her ex, so I stopped talking to her. Before I started talking to her, she would be nice to me, but she didn't really talk a lot. Since then, a few months have past and every so often she will say hi to me in person or say "We should catch up...it's been a while" or message me on facebook/twitter. Sometimes I'll be outside my dorm building on the phone and she jokes "are you always out here on the phone "

Thoughts? I know this is stalkerish, but I checked and her ex has a new gf lol

Well, it would only mean that she still likes you. She likes you even more now because you aren't talking to her that much. Your absence intrigues her and makes you seem more mysterious because she can't figure out what's going through your head. Basically you're not an open book.

They are complicated business. When a girl starts talking to you a lot after you don't "seem interested anymore", it's because girls have this obession of always wanting things they can't have and when you start to pay her attention, she gets bored. Girls like the chase.
Your best bet is to talk to her and find out, but don't be so pushy or blunt about the topic. That might scare her off.
