What will I lose without a gold membership (xbox 360)?

So I got a month free gold membership w/my xbox, it runs out in a few days,what exactly am I losing? I cant get a straight answer out of the website

Just playing games online. You can still get title updates for games & system updates. You can still message your friends. Some xbox live games you can't buy unless your a gold member.

You won't be able to play games online, but you can still play while connected to Xbox Live. You won't be able to join 8-person parties, but you can still do one-on-one private chats. There are certain demos and other releases that Gold members get early, but Silver members can get that stuff in around a week or so later. You won't be able to access some of the premium features like Netflix, Facebook, and Twitter. Otherwise I think you still keep everything else: you can still update your games, and you can still get downloads.
