Is there a way to keep my twitter off google, and still have a public account?
My name is really unique, so the search results are already pretty limited when someone googles me. I right now have a private account on twitter to prevent things from showing up on google. But it's really annoying because I can't get retweeted as easily. It actually impedes on how I use twitter since I want more people to see my tweets.

In account setting page, unmark protect my tweets option.

Once it's out there in search engine land, it can be very hard to get rid of it. My unscientific suggestions: You could try asking Google to reindex your Twitter profile page by suggesting it on their "suggest URL" page. You might also try setting your Twitter to private for a while, to see if that triggers a reindex..........
