Nokia lumia 920 or Samsung galaxy s3?

To the person who said Nokia isn't as good as it used to be, how would you know? Have you tried a Windows Phone? To those saying the S III, care to back it up with anything legitimate beyond that, maybe some features the 920 lacks? Anyone?

Well, I'm a Lumia 920 owner, and a darned happy one at that. I'm going to actually give you some reasons, rather than just say it and move along (I hate people unwilling to back up their claims).

Display: The Lumia 920's display is a LITTLE smaller (4.8" to 4.5"; I will put Samsung numbers first in these cases), but it has a higher resolution (1280x720 to 1280x768, again, the Lumia is the second number--the higher resolution). I have not seen anything specifically state the refresh time of the S III's display, only that the 920's competition (which certainly includes the S III) comes in at about a 23 ms refresh time. The fastest display on a phone EVER is part of the Lumia 920, and its refresh time is less than half that, at 9 ms, meaning less motion blur when playing fast-paced games or quickly scrolling through things. The 920 also has super sensitive touch, allowing users to use their smartphones with gloves on, which isn't an option with the S III.

Storage: The Galaxy S III has the microSD card, so it wins on the potential storage front. However, its 16 GB of built-in storage is half that of the Lumia 920 (for those who are bad at math, that's 32 GB). I'm personally at about 21 GB of used storage, and that's over 1,800+ songs, a few episodes of Doctor Who, 30-40 photos, and 40-50 applications and games.

Price: I'm not sure if this relates to the UK, but in the U.S. the S III is $200 on-contract and (I believe) $500 off-contract. The Lumia 920 comes in at just $100 on-contract and $450 off-contract, $100 less than the Samsung device in both cases.

Wireless Charging: You don't get this at all with the S III. However, the 920 has built-in Qi wireless charging, and you get a free wireless charger with the Lumia 920, which is normally a $50 accessory. So, even if the phones cost the same in the UK, you get a free accessory and feature you won't get with the S III.

Music: The Lumia 920 had Dolby Digital audio (including an equalizer) built into its device (though only for use while something is using the headphone jack--such as earphones or an audio cable for car use). You don't get that with the S III, to my knowledge.

Music Streaming: Android has quite a few options here. You have Pandora, Last.FM, and Spotify as the main ones. None of these are on Windows Phone, but Pandora is coming in early 2013 (with a free YEAR of ad-free streaming). However, this is irrelevant because of Nokia Music. That gives Lumia users an unlimited, free, ad-free streaming service, on-par with anything you can get with a paid subscription on Android. However, there's more. Nokia Music gives you the ability to download up to 4 playlists to your phone for offline use. So that means unlimited, free, ad-free steaming without ANY data usage (assuming you download the playlists on Wifi)!

Xbox LIVE: If you have Xbox LIVE, your gamertag and Gamerscore will follow you to the Games hub on Windows Phone, where you can play games online with people, and even earn achievements. You also have a company (Microsoft) making your OS and working on Xbox LIVE-enabled games for it, something Google's not going to give you.

I can go on, if you would really like. E-mail me if you need any more information, and I'll gladly give it.

Oh, and don't forget that Nokia's from Finland. Never hurts to help your neighbors, eh?

Don't know much of anything about the lumia 920 but i have a samsung galaxy s3 16 gb internal memory with sd card that can take up to 64gb i believe in external micro sd card.

I like the S3. its good for everything really, music, movies, the you tube app is already on it when you get it and links well with facebook and all other social networking sites. However the s3 also includes pre installed apps that you might not like but you can disable them not delete them.

The s3 takes great quality pictures and has many shooting options like panoramic view, burst shots, etc amongst others. Video is good quality and phone has many good options in the settings to enhance security.
