What do you think about businesses using social media?
Everywhere I go I notice this. A good example is fast food restaurants. I went to whataburger and somewhere on the side it says like us on facebook and twitter. What is the point of a whataburger or macdonalds being on social media? Everyone already knows who they are. Do they even message you back? I don't use facebook or twitter as I work a lot of hours and would rather socialize with people in person. I only come here sometimes to ask or answer questions. Anyways, what do you think about fast food restaurants promoting themselves on facebook and twitter?

It's advertising just like using tv, radio, newspapers, magazines, etc.

They can get noticed even more. Especially on facebook. Some places do message back.

I applied for a job where they wanted to know all of my social media uses, including Yahoo!Answers. I refused to give them the information and dropped my application. I think that business is out of line checking out your personal Facebook page, etc. I am sure management get spied upon by business.

A lot of people use social media but then again, a lot of them don't. I personally don't so the fact that they are on Twitter or Facebook means nothing to me but its probably cheap advertising for them.

Businesses using social media have understood the importance of social media. While Facebook, Twitter have become a part of the daily schedule of a normal person, it is a very feasible idea to promote one's business on such websites. It helps them reach to a wide potential customer base.
