How to get inventory from Hong Kong or other countries?

I've seen a lot of people on facebook selling clothes and accessories online or on their own websites. I heard they got the inventory from other countries such as Hongkong, Japan, Korea, etc.
Can any body tell me how can i start a business similar to those.
Also, what are the key things i should know about a business like this.

a biz is a well thought out process and since the US is still in a recession, get all your inventory
direct from USA providers!
