Can you invest in the stock market without an SS?
If you are living in the united states, can you invest in the stock market without an SS number?
Can you use a TIN or a business ID number instead? More inputs appreciated, thanks Ads |

honestly i'm not really sure.
But you should try to sign up to a website such as http://www.tradeking.com it is free, and if you can register to it, you can trade stocks. I'm not sure if they really need your SS (social security #) you should call and ask though. And now, this is not an advertising.... Ads |

Willie,
If you don't have a social security number, you can apply using form SS-5. I've put a link below. To answer your question, IRS requires you to have a social security number, because the interest and dividends your earn as well as your proceeds on sale of investments are reported to IRS by your social security number. |
