How can I tell if a guy likes me back?

This guy who I like sits next to me in class every day, although we have assigned seats. Usually our arms or legs are touching and neither one of us pulls away. He likes to tease me playfully and write his name all over my stuff, and always gets really defensive when one of his friends asks if I'm the one he likes. I texted him on Friday (I said "hey, how's it going?") when he didn't show up to school, and he hasn't responded yet. He also went and found me first on Facebook, twitter, etc. I would think that he likes me, but he hasn't responded to my text so I don't know?!

with guys that have liked me there are some basic things that they did that told me that they for sure liked me. they wouldnt stop bothering him and would act strange. according to your info, it looks like he likes you but that for some reason he doesnt want you to know

....... DUH! He likes you. Isn't it kind of obvious? And don't worry about the text. Just tell him the next time you see him if he got your text and etc. Something probably happened to his phone. No worries. And since you like him and you guys are so close, why don't you ask him out. Oh, but if he teases other girls the same way he teases you then there is a chance that he doesn't like you BUT there is still a chance that he likes you too.
