What do you know about the University of Nebraska at Omaha? Does it have a good party scene?
I'm looking at schools for next year, and am interested in the University of Nebraska at Omaha..does anyone know anything about it? Is it worth it to go there?

Also, does it have a good social scene? Good parties?

Thanks!

Hi Daisy,

I went to UNO as an undergraduate.

Have you taken a look at the new virtual tour? http://uno.hostexp.com It does a great job of answering some of the questions you listed.

UNO is located in the heart of Nebraska's largest city, a city that is definitely on the move. It only takes a short time of being at UNO to discover that you're never at a loss for something to do. Just down the street there's Aksarben Village, Omaha's thriving entertainment district where you can find places to hang out with friends, go see movies, eat at any of the restaurants, etc. It's just south of UNO's Pacific Street Campus. UNO's new hockey arena will be built there in the next few years, too!

If you'd like to get off campus a bit, you can head down to the Old Market in downtown Omaha. If it's concerts you're after, you can see big headliners at the CenturyLink Center. If indie music is your thing, stop by any of the numerous music hotspots like the Slowdown. Downtown Omaha is also home to the new T.D. Ameritrade Park, which is home to the College World Series, and will host two outdoor hockey games this year featuring the UNO Mavericks and the Omaha Lancers.

Learn more about UNO by visiting BeAMav.com there's also contact information on that page if you have any questions.

Want an even better feel of the Omaha we all know and love? Go to visitomaha.com

I hope you'll definitely consider becoming a part of the Maverick Family. I loved UNO so much that I've been working their since I graduated in 2009.
