How to give away my cat?

Don't get me wrong, I would never consider this unless I was being forced to. My three cats are being forced out of my arms thanks to my mother. She wants to just send them to a shelter, and I was wondering if there was a better place to send them. Or a site where I could advertise them online. Preferably a website. They're wonderful cats and don't deserve this, but I have tried everything and now it's unavoidable. Sorry to go on and on. It's still really painful.

Well, I would make fliers and hand them out to your veterinarian so they can distribute them, or post around town. Also, posting an add in the newspaper would be smart. If you want to try online, post an add on craigslist. You could also post on Facebook or Twitter (if you have one). Even call anyone you think might be interested. Whatever you do, please try not to put your cats in a shelter. They might eventually get adopted, but it is way less traumatic if you find them a family directly. And never, ever say "free to a good home", as that is a red flag to animal testing labs that your pet is free and available for their lab. Evaluate anyone who wants your cats very carefully. If you are giving them for free, don't put free in the title, put it in the description. That way, your kitties will be safe. Hope you find a good home!
