If you have a facebook app on your phone does it cost money?

I might be getting the "LG Ally" phone. I was watching a review on it, and the person was talking about the facebook/twitter app. If I got the phone, and didn't purchase internet in my plan, can I still use the application? PLEASE TELL ME!!!!

It uses the internet, if you don't have internet in your plan, the charges will be steep, if you want to add internet to your plan, I am sure your carrier will be happy to renegotiate the monthly bill, so you can pay for Facebook.
