Are big churches and televangelists another branch of corporate America?

No they are subjects to corporate America. Though all corporate America is not evil as some may say. Neither are all televangelists. But as you know television air-time aint cheap cuz. And since no corporations are willing to pay them to advertise during there shows its hard...

yep and all their prophets and profits are tax exempt, even when they preach agenda driven politics from the pulpit.

I'm with Jon M, but there is one thing that I would add to the thought behind your question. Megachurches and televangelists may be motivated by profit and the bottom line just like corporations are, but I don't think there's much in the way of social consciousness involved. In addition, other sectors of corporate America provide some sort of good or service in exchange for the money they get in. I'm not really sure what good or service megachurches and televangelists provide.

Really good question, though I think, based upon how you asked the question, you already know the answer. I think there might be a few out there that are really trying to do good, but for the most part, I am skeptical. Man sure is good at @#^&ing up what should be a good thing...
