How to restore computer to factory settings? (Windows 8)?
I have a dell laptop that originally ran Windows Vista, and I got tired of windows 8 so I'm trying to restore it to factory settings, but everytime I try, it says something about how windows is missing files. It won't let me restore. Help please?! Thanks in advance.

Hello, I am Nitika from the Dell Social Media outreach team.

As you have already mentioned that originally you had Windows Vista on your system and then you installed windows 8 ,So we cant go to factory image as there are no utility partitions in your system but please dont worry ,
If carrying the OS DVD which you must have recieved with the system so we can reinstall the OS .

I would also suggest you to take the data back up of your system.

I would appreciate you if I can get your service tag also so that I can check your order details and give you the correct details if required.

And you can find the service tag

**on the bottom of the laptop on the white sticker
**it’s a seven digit alphanumeric code which ends with BS or number 1

If in case you do face any challenges in the process, please feel free to contact me directly by sending me an email or by through a reply to this blog.
