He is trying to get access to his myspace/facebook . How can he do that from where he is?

he can't. marines in areas like that cannot go onto socil websites becuase they can post information about what there doing on it and then the enemy can read up.

It may not be possible. Often, the military blocks those two sites on purpose. There have been security issues when someone posted too much about where they were, what they were doing, pictures, etc., and sometimes the commander just decided to bypass the whole problem. Your son could ask someone in communications if this is so.

I am a contractor working for the DOD. Those sites are routinely blocked by DOD networks. Too much bandwidth, and the risk of viruses and trojans getting into the defense network. You also can't use YouTube, most streaming media, and lots of other sites.
