Does Facebook give your computer viruses?

I can't go on myspace on my mom's computer because her last computer got so many viruses from it. So is facebook safe?

Of course its safe. I don't know how you got viruses from myspace. Millions of users use it. You might have downloaded a program off someones myspace with a virus in it.

Facebook and myspace wont give you viruses.. the people on myspace or links you might click could though. usually it is due to downloading things or visiting high risk sites.

yes, you can definitely get many viruses on facebook. There are thousands of applications which users add to their computers through facebook which could gives their comp. a virus. Sure, many of them are safe (like flair, ilike, bumper stickers) but other applications can be extremely harmful and wreak havac on your system:(smiles, certain quizes, fake tracking applications, and so on) Have your mom clear out unnecessary applications, clean her system with virus scan or professional computer service and then tell her to stop adding new applications and facebook can be safe. .
