In the UK do your school have the right to look down your twitter?

Well you put the photo online so anyone can see, but i do think it's weird that your school did find it. At my old school a student wasn't allowed to be friends with a teacher on facebook or follow them on twitter so they wouldn't of been allowed to pull us out on the photo if we had posted it but all schools are different i guess.
