Facebook, Google, any of the web-based telephone books, http://www.zabasearch.com

In Google, use quotes and try variations:
"Thomas Alva Edison"
"Edison, Thomas Alva"
"Tommy Edison"
etc.

zabasearch will show you a little, which may be enough, and offer to show you more for a fee. So will some of the web-based phone books. Some of the Google hits will be advertisements for fee sites. Look for "Ad" in very small letters.
