Is it safe to login to websites (facebook, youtube, etc.) using a VPN?
I'm using a VPN and I was just wondering if it is completely safe to login to websites like facebook? Is it even safer than my usual network? Or is it a lot worse? Can people access my info like my email and password? Thanks.

It is already safe to log on without the need for any VPN service or alike. What made you even use it? Don't get too paranoid about safety issues online. Just keep an anti-virus installed in handy and you're good to go. Don't be visiting fishy websites, ya hear?

If you log in to a VPN (virtual private network) the operator / admin of that private network can track each packet and all data you send through that network. Think of it as another local router at your home. If you own that router you can log, trap, and review anything sent through the system. VPNs owned and operated by you or your employee or someone you know are generally safe. Those operated by unknown people are indeed much more dangerous than your own ISP.

VPN encrypts traffic before it leaves your computer. It prevents others on the lan from being able to see what you are doing. It is safe to go anywhere you normally do. If in a hotel, it is saver than not using one.

If it is a free VPN then it's not safe. If it's a quality paid service then you are golden.
