Is it fair to ask my wife to unfriend a past sexual partner on facebook?

Yes, you DO have a rite to say something about such "friend" who really wasn't a "friend" per se. They should have NO reason to be in touch, to keep in touch. That was then, this is now. I would not hesitate to let her know how you feel about it. He honestly doe not belong in her life, should be put in the past & left rite there. You're rite in that the ONLY ONE thing they had in "common""" was sex. Now that's gone, he too should in all fairness also be gone too. Your/her past is forever gone, but her future is still her own. He is NOT a part of her future, she needs to let go of him & free herself & you from him altogether...best to you...Smile

It's totally fair. Being a woman myself, I don't understand y she would be friends with them anyway.

I seriously doubt your wife and this dude are going to strike up a conversation about their "fling" over 20 yrs ago...

...and unless you are going to ask her to unfriend EVERY person on DRAMAbook that she's friended that isn't actually a real, true, friend, then asking her to unfriend this guy just makes you come across as jealous and insecure...

If y'all have been together over 20 yrs, then this dude is harmless...IF he's not harmless, your marriage is in far worse trouble already than you could ever blame on her friending some dude on a social website...

I have 2 ex gf/ sex partners on my FB friends. My wife has one. There is no problem. We know about each other friends. It was fun to catch up on each other and on our mutual friends.. (Sorry to hear about your mother. She was a cool mom. Did your brother marry that blond?, etc.) Now we talk about grand kids. We have been very good friends with one of my wife's ex bf/sex partners for over 30 yrs. No biggie!. We all have past relationships. If we are not looking to rekindle, then what is the harm?

You should def tell her how you feel. I would feel the same way. There's no need for the ex to be a friend on Facebook. I would find that to be disrespectful. Good luck

I don't know why they became facebook friends in the first place.
